Birch Hill Bed and BreakfastYou Are Cordially Invited to feel at home while traveling in the Berkshires. Birch Hill Bed & Breakfast offers quiet, comfortable, tastefully decorated country rooms with private baths in a home built during The American Revolution. Amazing: The American Revolution!

Start the day with specialty homemade breads, muffins; and bountiful, out of the ordinary, mouth-watering breakfasts.

Birch Hill is open year ‘round; so plan to visit with us several times during the year. Sheffield, MA is noted for its numerous, and quality antique shops, which will draw antique buffs back many times during the year.

In any season, fill your lungs with clean country air, crisp mornings, or during the Fall, Winter, and Spring seasons inhale the aroma of wood burning from our 7 fireplaces.

Bike through the rural countryside, or hike the Appalachian Trail, Mt. Everett, Race Brook Falls, Bash Bish Falls, or Bartholomew’s Coble [Hiker’s maps available]. Skeet or Trap shooting is close by at Sheffield Sporting Club or Stockbridge Sportsmen’s Club.

Enjoy the refreshment of our in-ground pool, or swim, canoe, row, or kayak at the lake just across the road. Or, simply relax and enjoy the scent of acres of freshly mown lawn, a game of croquet; or the stillness that follows a summer shower.

The Chestnut Room [our large common room], with its library, CD music center, television, piano, and game tables is the perfect location to make yourself at home in any season. Plan your trip to include the unmatched spectacle of our Fall Foliage, or the beauty of a picture perfect soft and alluring snow scene, while relaxing by a roaring, crackling fire [or your own room with a romantic, cozy, fireplace].

The Sheffield, Egremont, Great Barrington, Stockbridge, Lenox, Lee, or Pittsfield areas offer an excellent choice of gastronomically delightful restaurants for your other meals [menus are on display to help you make your selection].

Children over the age of 9 years are more than welcome to enjoy themselves [quietly] with our in-ground pool, games, or even, perhaps, play with our children Cole, and Morgan.

Dogs are welcome [most breeds], but rules are strict. Your pet must be leashed at all times, walked away from the lawns, flowers, and pool area, accompany you whenever you leave your room, and needless to say, is not allowed on any furniture. Because of these restrictions, you might find it easier to leave your pet at home, and enjoy our Greyhound during your stay.

Smoking is strictly limited to outside our country home.

Built around 1780, at the foot of Mt. Everett on 20 acres of wooded splendor, Birch Hill Bed & Breakfast [formerly Ivanhoe Country House] welcomes you.
